Trinity Chapel Leadership Code of Honor

TC CODE OF HONOR:

Thank you for your interest in becoming involved at Trinity Chapel by joining our Frontline Serve Team! We could not do everything that needs to be done for the Kingdom without an incredible team of people committed to serving God, our congregation, and our community. We are grateful for you! We call our Serve Team the "Frontline Team" because you are an ESSENTIAL part in helping Trinity Chapel reach people for Jesus!

As a member of the Frontline Serve Team, you are on the "frontlines" at Trinity Chapel. You are a vital part of the church and carry the great responsiblity of sharing Jesus with others as a representative of Trinity Chapel. Because of the great, and highly rewarding, responsibility that comes with this role, we ask our Frontline Serve Team members to strive to live a life that exemplifies Christ. While we understand that no one is perfect, and we are thankful for the grace we all have through Jesus Christ, the Bible teaches us that we should all seek after holiness. Romans 12:1 says "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” This is our prayer for all of our members, that we would all be passionate followers of Jesus Christ, striving to live a sacrifical and holy life that is pleasing to God!

Since our leaders and volunteers are serving our local church body, and the community as a representative of Trinity Chapel, we ask that all our volunteers be active, participating members of Trinity Chapel and fully support the vision, mission, and values of Trinity Chapel. If you are newer to our church family and have not attended Step One, please make plans to do so by registering here: https://trinitychapel.breezechms.com/form/ce272d

We ask that you prayerfully consider the responsibility of serving on the Frontline Serve Team and ask that you agree to each aspect of this Code of Honor prior to serving.

Frontline Serve Team Code of Honor:

1) Maintain a culture of teamwork and servant-leadership.

The culture we strive to maintain at Trinity Chapel is one of servant-leadership and teamwork. Serving at Trinity Chapel is not about titles or positions, it is about demonstrating humility and going the extra mile to serve the Body of Christ. It is about sacrificing for others in order to demonstrate Christ to them.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3

"For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke 14:11

2) Maintain Christ-like conduct.

As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and servant-leader. As a Frontline Serve Team member at Trinity Chapel, we ask that you pledge to present yourself as a godly representative of the Church. In attitude, attire, behavior, and communication (both in-person and on social media), we ask that you commit to demonstrate Biblical standards in all situations.

We ask you to refrain from such things as:

profanity (Ephesian 5:4)
gossip and careless speech (Proverbs 17:9)
indulging in excess alcohol (1 Timothy 3:8)
dishonest gain (Luke 16:10)
illegal drugs (1 Corinthians 6:19)
pornography and sexual immorality (Ephesians 5:3)
all behaviors which might cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble (Romans 12:1-2)
communication - in-person or via social media - that might be hurtful to others, to our church, or to the Church as a whole (Philippians 4:8)

3) Devote yourself to spiritual growth.

Spend personal time in prayer and Bible study. Commit your plans to the Lord and pray that He use you to build His Kingdom.

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:8

4) Speak life over your church, your leaders, your church family

As a Frontline Serve Team member, you are committing to loving and serving your local church body. As evidence of this commitment, we ask that you choose to speak life over your church, your church family, and leaders. There will always be an opportunity to take offense or let negative thoughts take hold. Commit to forgiving as Christ forgave us. Commit to extending grace when others may offend you and believe the best about others. Commit to love your church, love one another, and resist a spirit of offense or disunity in the body of Christ.

"Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." Ephesians 4:2-3

"Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you." Hebrews 13:7

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

Thank you for taking the time to read over the Frontline Team Code of Honor.

By providing an example in speech and action, we demonstrate Christ to others, encourage them to grow, and develop them into servant-leaders themselves. This Code of Honor is not meant to be viewed as a list of restrictions or impositions. Rather, as representatives of Christ, we believe serving others according to the guidelines set out in this Code of Honor serves as an outward expression of our faith and desire to live a life set apart for Christ. Thank you for your love for the Church and willingness to serve the Kingdom. We are excited to serve alongside you!
